What Role Does the Media Play in Politics?
Over
time, the internet has created many websites and channels that provide public
communication that is essential to the news and politics. Of course, we know
that the media's initial role is to report any type of news in many different
forms, but what role does the media play in politics? Media, including social
media, has given political parties and the topic of politics the tools to
enhance their numbers in views. The media has become an essential enabler for
all political parties and politics for new and old generations. The four
functions of media which are to inform, to persuade, to entertain, and to
transmit culture align perfectly when it comes to political topics and debates
being in the spotlight of the media. We receive free press from the media,
which is very beneficial to those who are deep into politics or those who just
enjoy the entertainment of political scandals or political affairs. The media
provides us with hard news when it comes to politics and gives us immense
information.
The
New Media and Politics
According
to research, the new media are forms of media that rely on computers for
redistribution. Animations, video games, and even memes, the new media is not
beyond our time, but it is close. Since the new media relies on computers for
redistribution may I mention how the new generation, the millennials rely on
social media for political coverage? In this day and age, there's more social
media and less television in most case scenarios. Social media convinced its
users to change their views on voting during Election 2020. During Election
Week 2020 social media data usage went up. Election 2020 is one of the most
rememberable elections in history that took social media by storm. From
personal experience, I didn't have to turn on my television even though my
mother kept hers on to consistently be posted on the results of the Election,
google, Facebook, Snapchat, Instagram, Twitter, and even Snapchat were very
persistent with keeping myself and many of millennials updated on the Election.
Why is Social Media So Important for Politics and Political Parties?
Since
its inception, social media has changed the media about politics. What makes
social media important for politics and political parties is that it allows
them to promote themselves. What makes social media important for politics, in
general, is that it allows participation among citizens. Younger generations
are becoming more actively involved as citizens thanks to the promotion of
politics on social media. Political news moves quickly, so just imagine how it
moves on social media.

Impact Mass Media Has on Politics
Mass
Media has shown itself to be an essential aspect of the right kind of political
behavior. Several people may think that Mass Media impacts politics and
political parties positively and negatively. Mass media provides multiple
commentaries and news about politics on television and social media. Mass media

been influenced by politics. The job of Mass Media is to shape public opinions
and perspectives based on issues and positives about politics.
The Government and Mass Media
Mass
Media’s impact has been a huge impact on Political Governments. With the
intensity and levels of mass media, mass media is all over the place. From social
media to television, to billboards, mass media can help or hinder the
government in today's digital age. The future of mass media and the government
aligning is unpredictable as of now. The future of mass media and politics looks
bigger and brighter considering that mass media is already a big industry. Mass
media is no longer a smaller platform compared to its past. Mass media is now
running by many different types of corporations and individual companies which
helps enhance the news with politics.
Has the Media helped Enhance Politics?
Mass
media has strengthened politics through many aspects. To be frank, any
political story or election is impossible without the media. Election 2020 in
America is a great example of how essential the media is to politics and
elections in general. This year’s media coverage over the 2020 election may
have been more crucial than ever. Election 2020 reached international cable
channels and politics went down in history. Topics on Twitter were trending in
Europe. Though this year's election was nerve-wracking and could have done its
number due to Trump's four-year whirlwind the media helped enhance it ten times
more. Many media experts, news reporters, and hosts were drained from
constantly working. Millennials have voiced that they have never been as
interested in politics until election 2020.
We
Need the Media
