Over time, the internet has created many websites and channels that provide public communication that is essential to the news and politics. Of course, we know that the media's initial role is to report any type of news in many different forms, but what role does the media play in politics? Media, including social media, has given political parties and the topic of politics the tools to enhance their numbers in views. The media has become an essential enabler for all political parties and politics for new and old generations. The four functions of media which are to inform, to persuade, to entertain, and to transmit culture align perfectly when it comes to political topics and debates being in the spotlight of the media. We receive free press from the media, which is very beneficial to those who are deep into politics or those who just enjoy the entertainment of political scandals or political affairs. The media provides us with hard news when it comes to politics and gives us immense information.  

                                                 The New Media and Politics

According to research, the new media are forms of media that rely on computers for redistribution. Animations, video games, and even memes, the new media is not beyond our time, but it is close. Since the new media relies on computers for redistribution may I mention how the new generation, the millennials rely on social media for political coverage? In this day and age, there's more social media and less television in most case scenarios. Social media convinced its users to change their views on voting during Election 2020. During Election Week 2020 social media data usage went up. Election 2020 is one of the most rememberable elections in history that took social media by storm. From personal experience, I didn't have to turn on my television even though my mother kept hers on to consistently be posted on the results of the Election, google, Facebook, Snapchat, Instagram, Twitter, and even Snapchat were very persistent with keeping myself and many of millennials updated on the Election.


                                  Why is Social Media So Important for Politics and Political Parties?  

Since its inception, social media has changed the media about politics. What makes social media important for politics and political parties is that it allows them to promote themselves. What makes social media important for politics, in general, is that it allows participation among citizens. Younger generations are becoming more actively involved as citizens thanks to the promotion of politics on social media. Political news moves quickly, so just imagine how it moves on social media. 

                                          The Impact Mass Media Has on Politics

Mass Media has shown itself to be an essential aspect of the right kind of political behavior. Several people may think that Mass Media impacts politics and political parties positively and negatively. Mass media provides multiple commentaries and news about politics on television and social media. Mass media has the power to influence our thoughts, and it is evident that thoughts have been influenced by politics. The job of Mass Media is to shape public opinions and perspectives based on issues and positives about politics.

Mass Media’s impact has been a huge impact on Political Governments. With the intensity and levels of mass media, mass media is all over the place. From social media to television, to billboards, mass media can help or hinder the government in today's digital age. The future of mass media and the government aligning is unpredictable as of now. The future of mass media and politics looks bigger and brighter considering that mass media is already a big industry. Mass media is no longer a smaller platform compared to its past. Mass media is now running by many different types of corporations and individual companies which helps enhance the news with politics.

                                         Has the Media helped Enhance Politics?  

Mass media has strengthened politics through many aspects. To be frank, any political story or election is impossible without the media. Election 2020 in America is a great example of how essential the media is to politics and elections in general. This year’s media coverage over the 2020 election may have been more crucial than ever. Election 2020 reached international cable channels and politics went down in history. Topics on Twitter were trending in Europe. Though this year's election was nerve-wracking and could have done its number due to Trump's four-year whirlwind the media helped enhance it ten times more. Many media experts, news reporters, and hosts were drained from constantly working. Millennials have voiced that they have never been as interested in politics until election 2020.

                                                        We Need the Media

In conclusion, we all need the media, politics needs the media for a various amount of reasons. The media plays an important part in the everyday lives of citizens. Without the media, we wouldn't be connected to the world or scenarios that informs and enlightens us like politics and political views. Media influences and informs. While there are advantages and disadvantages of the media, it is essential to our everyday lives and politics.
